Ramadan Begins Tonight

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a time of reflection and fasting. Though I am not a Muslim myself, I can appreciate the benefits of taking some time out of our busy (or not so busy) day and focusing on what really matters to us.

Now as an avid food eater, I’m not the biggest fan of fasting. But the self-denial of one of the most primal human desires, to feed, can build your willpower and show you how you can hold up in the face of adversity. That is a lesson we could all use.

To all our Muslim readers, Kul ‘am wa enta bi-khair!
